CODE OF ETHICS
  & CLUB RULES

1.  Australian Mist breeders shall breed with the intention of improving the breed and maintaining the excellent temperament of the breed.

2.  All kittens will be sold fully vaccinated and microchipped and the relevant microchipping paperwork and vet certificate should be supplied to the new owner. Insurance with Pet Plan is free for the breeder to set up and should be taken out.  Breeders should advise new owners to insure their pets.

3. Breeders will not allow any sold kittens under the age of thirteen weeks to leave their premises

4.  Kittens will be sold in good health, free of parasites and house trained. The new owner will be supplied with details of their kitten's usual diet and litter.

5.  All pet kittens (i.e. those not sold for breeding) will be neutered / spayed before they leave the breeder's premises. THIS IS NON-NEGOTIABLE. 

6.  The breeder must evaluate honestly any kitten sold for breeding or showing to ensure that it confirms to the breed standard.

7.  All relevant papers (i.e. registration and pedigree shall be supplied to the new owner at the time of sale.  If the papers are not yet available they must be forwarded to the new owner as soon as possible.

8.(i)  After sales help and guidance will be available to all buyers to ensure every kitten settles quickly into it's new home with the minimum of trauma.

    (ii)  All breeders must be prepared to take back any kitten or cat or assist in rehoming said kitten or cat in the event of the new owner being unable to keep it for any reason.

9.  Stud services will be available only to registered Australian Mists from registered catteries.

10.  The breeder will not outcross an Australian Mist Cat to any other breed.

11.  When selling kittens the breeder agrees to abide by the price set by the Australian Mist Cat Club UK.  Older cats (i.e. ex-breeding cats) may be sold at a price agreeable to both parties.

12.  All members shall ensure that their cats are properly housed, fed, watered at all times and receive veterinary care when required. Cats should have daily grooming and time to play and receive stimulation.  Cats should have company where possible.  The breeders shall generally show responsibility for the way in which their cats are kept
